Live Life Without Limits

At Action Deafness Cymru, we provide 24/7 specialist and personalised Care and Support services for Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing and people with sight loss across Wales. We also support individuals with complex needs and offer extra care for older Deaf people. Our goal is to empower you to live independently and confidently, improving your quality of life by fostering equal opportunities, both at home and in the community.

Whether you require constant ongoing support, just a few hours each day or weekly, or specific 1:1 support via direct payment or social service referral, our dedicated team is here to provide the tailored assistance you need. We offer a free needs assessment upon referral.

Rose's Story

I felt isolated living in a hearing community. Now I have a Specialist Support Worker (SSW) who I can sign with, who helps me get on with my life as normal and helped me arrange a meeting with my son, it was emotional!

Dave's Story

My local Deaf charity was having problems providing care services to my wife. Action Deafness stepped in to support the charity and brought a completely new way of working.

Our Commitment to Quality

Action Deafness is committed to providing the highest quality care and support.

We are a registered domiciliary and supported living care provider with both the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW). This means our practices and standards are regularly inspected to ensure we meet national requirements and provide safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led services.

Our Expert Team

Support is delivered by our expert team of Specialist Support Workers (SSWs). Many are Deaf and fluent in British Sign Language (BSL). Our SSWs are dedicated to helping service users maintain and improve their independence in the community.

Their deep understanding of Deaf culture and diverse communication methods ensures seamless support, enabling clients to access local communities, facilities, services, essential information, and opportunities, and ultimately lead enriched lives. Our truly valued team members are carefully selected, trained, and supported to provide the highest quality person-centred care.

Communicator Guides

Some of our team are also skilled in hands-on signing, and the Deafblind manual alphabet. This range of communication methods ensures seamless communication, eliminating communication barriers and empowering clients to take control of their own lives, by providing truly tailored support to meet specific needs.
